Driver Qualifications

General
- Must be at least 23 Years of age
- Experienced Drivers: Should have one year of recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience (w/in last 5 years)
- Trainees: You should have at least 2 years of previous verifiable employment
- No felony convictions
- Current Class A CDL license in home state
- Pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, Human Performance Evaluation, and pre-employment Road Test
- Must pass all S&H and DOT requirements
Safety
- No DWI/DUI in the last 5 years
- No license suspensions in the last five years for a moving violation
- No more than 3 moving violations in the past 5 years, with no more than 2 in the last 12 months
- No more than one preventable accident in the last 3 years
- No reckless or careless driving citations in the last 5 years
- No rear end collisions in the last 5 years
- No citations for following too closely in the last 5 years
There is a difference between serious and non-serious violations.
Serious Violations Include...
- DWI/ DUI
- Reckless Driving
- Excessive speeding of 15 mph or more over the limit
- Improper or erratic lane change
- Following too closely
- A violation arising in connection with a fatal accident
- Driving a CMV without a CDL
- Driving a CMV without a CDL in your possession
- Driving a CMV without the proper class of CDL and/or endorsements for the specific vehicle being operated.
